Dear Mr. Moyle,

Loudon, 18th September, 1924.

When the Bishop of Vistoria reached this country last July 1 had several conversations with him on the subject of the German missions in Hongkong and we paid a visit to the Oolenial Office. The Bishop tells me that you are acting temporarily as secretary of the German

Mission Trustees. I enclose a letter which he sent me to forward with my own. I had hoped to be able to deal with the matter before going on my holiday in August. The information from the German Societies, however, did not

copy of a letter which has been sent to the Secretary of

State for the Colonies.

I am writing to you officially on behalf of the Conference of Missionary Societies, which representa all the Protestant missionary societies in Great Britain and

Ireland and which is in close touch through the Internation- al Missionary Council (of which I am also secretary) with the corresponding national missionary organisations in North

America, the Continent of Europe and ether countries. The

Gemmittee of the Genference on Helations with Governmente

has, during and since the war, been dealing en behalf of the missionary societies with all matters relating to the

work of German missions.

I am sending you a copy of the letter from

Mr. J. H. Thomas in which he amounced a few months ago his decision to remove the discrimination against German missions and to place them on the same footing as missionary societies in other countries on the Continent of Europe,
